ABOUT
The Blautaler Schuhplattler of Kansas City present unique and energetic entertainment in traditional German folk dance style. Our authentically attired group emphasizes original Bavarian schuhplattler -- the vigorous, athletic, shoe-slapping/stomping/jumping movements created by Alpine villagers hundreds of years ago.
Shows features alpine bells, whips, women "flying", musical saw, as well as the familiar intricate figure dances where the men flirts with his lady as she showcases grace and coordination in non-stop twirling. Blautaler promotes the beauty of this Old World Folk Culture through authentic dance, music, dress and custom.
The Blautaler perform locally for community and civic festivals, fund-raisers, and numerous cultural arts events, as well as private parties. The dancers, all members of the German American Citizens Association of Kansas City, Missouri, are volunteers dedicated to the preservation of this piece of history by recreating enjoyable dances.
SV Blautaler performs at The Kansas City Ethnic Festival, Northland Ethnic Festival, Wyandotte County Ethnic Festival, Abilene, KS Oktoberfest, The KC Oktoberfest, and your event!
